Default Paint Protectors

Just dug out some of the clear plastic paint protector sheeting I had for the Porsche and tried to make a couple of protectors for the side of my tank where your knees hold.
Due to the strange curveture of the tank I am having a job to get it to fit perfect.
Cut and shaped as required, used soapy water and a hair dryer but I am only getting 99% of the result I want.
Possibly due to the cold but any tips would be appreciated.
