Default Scottoiler

Hi Guys,

Just had a scottoiler fitted to the Sv650 and I was just wondering what sort of mileage you get from them before filling up?

The guy in the shop said around 300 which I thought was a little bit low so im interested in your experiences.

Also the garage set it to max which I think is probably a bit excessive so I wondered whether anyone can give me a rough guide on where the dial should be?

Thanks a lot

Mine was set at about 1, i.e. close to min. You need to experiment, chain should look clean and neither dry nor wet.
Too much will splatter oil onto your tyre, so start low and increase if required.
I topped mine up whenever it got to about 1/4 left, maybe 300-500 miles. It only takes a minute.

I can't remember without the touring res (it was a long time ago when I had it on the SV) but you really do want to keep an eye on it as if it runs out the last bit ****es out rather quick and then you have to prime it again (which is a tiny bit of a pita).

I run mine fairly high, so I fill more often than most I would say .....but still probably 400 miles to a fill ...
