Bar risers

I've been riding since August 09 and obviously had a big lay off through the winter so very limited experience of riding.

I'm struggling to build my confidence when cornering ( I'm not looking to scrape things on the floor,just want to be smoother) and was chatting to a mate who believes that it could mainly be down the the position of the bars on the sv.

I've just booked a day with a training school whom i met whilst on my DAS and he's taking me out early April for a ride to assess and help me more, but interested to hear what you more experienced peeps think about adding a set of risers.
