Default Selling my 2003 SV650-S.

Hi all,

My name is Ian and i've been a member of this site for some time. Though admittedly I normally just read and don't post much, the time has now come to part company with the SV in favour of a Honda CBR 600-RR.

Unfortunately, due to a crash and a bit of neglect; the bike is currently declared SORN. And in it's current state is NOT road worthy. I believe getting it back on the road would cost hundreds of pounds.

I do not have the skill, the patience or the tools to 'break' the bike myself, nor know anyone that does. As a result i'm intent on selling it to someone who does, so that they might either make a profit from it, or gain themselves a track day project.

I bought the bike for £3000 two years ago, it has about 16,000 miles on the clock. All I mean to do is recouperate some of the money I have lost, as I was left paying off the loan when the bike had to be taken off the road. Lack of money due to debt's stopped me from getting the bike back on the road ASAP, and now it's too late.

The bike had a service not long before I declared it off the road, so it has a new chain and sprockets on it. The tyres are knackered. Both front and rear calipers are sticking. the front break lever is broken, the back brake lever has been sheared off, no front right indicator, flat battery, (completely flat, optimiser made no difference) break in the top fairing, on the left hand side, bad scratches on the rear fairing, scratches on the exhaust.

Phew, I think that's about it. Pictures to follow over the next few days.
If anyone has any thoughts, please PM me.

Thanks all, and remember; shiny side up!

Hey, thanks for the interest so soon.

I will have pictures up on this thread by Sunday the 28th march. Sorry it's a while off, I'm pretty bogged down with stuff at the moment.

As for the price, I'm still deliberating at the moment, I should have a better idea of a fair price when my mate has looked over it, but the price will be negotiable anyway.

I should also say that I'm based near Oxford, and anyone who buys it will need to pick it up, I don't know anyone with a van unfortunately.

Thanks again guys, pics online by 28-3-10.

Ian

Hi all, with a bit of luck I should be able to upload some pictures now, I'm not too technically minded though, so please stick with me!

The asking price is £550. I arrive at this figure due to the parts that are in good condition, the low mileage etc. This is negotiable to an extent however.

I have put some pictures in this post, but i appear to have hit a maximum limit of five pictures.

Here are some more pictures hopefully.

I also forgot in my initial post that the speedometer is also not working. I think it's just a case of either changing the cable, or repairing it. I think the cable got caught when the bars were at full lock. Maybe a soldering iron job, though i'm honestly not sure if you can fix it that way.

Ian.

Thanks.
I thought so too, but I just wanted enough money to pay off the rest of my loan, I'm not looking to profit greatly!

(Don't worry, It's a bank loan; I own the bike!)
