Election: Labour Vs Conservative - discuss

I managed to upset someone last night by asking whether there was any real difference between the two.

Not being a very political person I'm not really up on current policy - maybe not currently having Television doesn't help.

So - despite being about to disappear for my internet free weekend - over to the org.

Democracy has lost its way.

As a voter I genuinely do not know what is worse, devil we know devil we don't Labour got us into this mess, but I don't think they can get us out with him at the Helm.

As for the others... sadly no idea.

There is an argument that both are trying to lose the next election, somebody needs to get serious and the next party in will get the grief for it...

I don't normaly talk politics but I will say this.
During my adult life I have lived through about 16 years of tory government and the last 13 years with labour. Niether have ever done me any favours

the election has not even been called yet and I am truly fed up of all the political BS. I'm sure there are differences between the two (main) parties but neither are telling us the whole truth as yet -

both l**our and the conservatives don't want to tell the truth as it will scare the horses before the election.

someone please wake me up on the 6th of may so i can vote (Mrs Ann 'expenses hoon' keen is my MP, she sure as hell is not getting my vote)

I am not up on current policy and tend to take the view that the two main parties are just as bad as one another and both are lead by numpties that I don't like.

Although I will say that at least one seems refreshing whereas the other always seems to be trying to weasle about.

The country is screwed. I tend to look locally as to what I want and then vote accordingly. Whatever name is attached doesn't really matter.

I don't vote in this country as I am not a British national. I do pay taxes though and permanently live here so I feel the pain in the same way as someone that votes.

As with every subject I think things need to be put into perspective.

Labour government is not at fault for the financial crisis! Other coutries who have had Tory groups leading were in the same mess....see Germany for example. So in my eyes it doesn't matter who was in power...the problem would have still occurred. No matter who is leading when you start seeing ££££ flowing and market running in a fast pace you don't stop it! You just ride the wave!!

IF I could vote I would vote Labour though. In contrary to Torry policy, Labour did feed money into the economy. Yes I agree that increased debt BUT the UK was the country with the smallest % being unemployed after the recession. When people have jobs they pay taxes and they also spend money which keeps shops going and people in jobs!!

Do take notice of Germany who strongly oposed to feeding money to their economy thus not increasing their debt.......they have still not come out of the recession.

YES we will pay more taxes to reduce the debt but at least the majority did keep their jobs and didn't have to be unemployed and go through the problems that brings along.

Finally on a selfish note I would not vote Tory because they are not as supportive of foreigners working in the UK. Considering the amount of British nationals working in my country without any issues (infact they are welcome )I find their policies on this unfair and hugely discriminating.
