Default Bank Holiday Monday (3rd).

As I'm not a great fan of the procession ride from the Ace, I'll be doing my own thing, basic plan is to kick off after a bacon butty from the Oakdene (about 10-ish), relaxed ride down to Battle, then drop into Hasting for a bit to see the bikes ( not for llong mind), over to Rye, military rd, perhaps the marshes, then either A20 straight back to the Oakdene or a wiggly route time allowing.

Couple of nice spirited bits along the way, but mostly just a pleasent day out.

So whether I do it alone or others want to join me the option is there, don't say you weren't informed.....

Edit : Route

Map Link

L out of Oakdene follow A20 - L into Seven mile ln (B2016)

Across roundabout (A228 ) - L Maidstone rd (B2160)

*****

Cross A21 into Dundale rd (opposite) - L at T junction (inclined) towards Bells Yew Green

Cross B2169 Heading towards Frant A267

L onto the A267- follow until keep L onto A265 (at Heathfield)

R onto B 2096 (signposted to Battle) - L at A271 into Battle

Find a cuppa tea!!!

Kick off L (at roundabout) down the A2100 -

L again onto B2092 down to the coast road,
R into Hastings (this avoids the A21 bit)

*****L just before Matfield (Coppers Ln) towards Brenchley

R on to the (B2162) Horsmonden cross A21 - B2100 - L onto A267 *****

Timings:

If you want Breakfast then 10 am
to leave at 10.50 am (10 minutes buffer, but don't count on it)
there is a petrol station next to the cafe, so no excused for not having a full tank to start.

Cheers Mark.

Now that's not a very helpfull reply Mark, now is it?

I just wondered whether, if you are at Oakdene at 10 ish, and Viney is a Locksbottom at 11 ish, we could in fact join up. I suppose I could just get a map out and have a look, but I was being lazy and hoped that people with more knowledge than I about the geographic locations of the above places, could say so quicker!

About 3-4 miles away I'd guess, does that help

Erm, Probably easier to meet at Locksbottom, then trundle off to the Oakdene. Its about a 30-40 min ride from Locks to Oak.

As i havent made it to Hastings for a couple of years, im looking to get down there and then have a walk around. So may meet up along the route.
