Default Top Box on Fireblade Pillion seat

I have probably asked more questions about my new Fireblade on here than I ever did about my SV but all the Fireblade forums are rubbish and most are American so, as I know a lot of orgers have done it to their SV. Do you think it would be wise to attempt to fit a top box to the pillion seat of the blade?

I don't still have the SV to compare it to but it looks like the pillion seat on the blade is a bit smaller and more rounded than the one on the SV which means it may be less stable. Here are some pics so you get the idea.

I will need to buy some hefty nuts and bolts. Anyone know a cheap place to get these from?

Here is what the finished article will look like. Beautiful isn't it? Am I mad for thinking this will be a good idea or is it going to end in tears and me running around the French Autoroutes looking for my undies.

It's what all the cool kids are doing these days mate. You just need to get down wiv it.

Worst thing is, if I had bought a 954 I could've got a givi rack. But sadly they don't do one for the 929.

Not really sold on the Venturi system, it's just very expensive soft luggage.

I haven't fitted it yet, in the pics it's just resting on the top.

I am going away for a week so need a bit more space than the normal under seat storage. Undecided on weather to tty and fit the box or just stick with throw over panniers.

I've already got soft panniers and a tank bag which are okay but I wanted something I can lock so if I pass something interesting on my travels I can stop and go for a wander without worrying about whether the luggage is safe.

I know a top box still isn't that safe but really important stuff I can cary with me in a small tank bag and leave all my clothes and stuff locked onto the bike.

Plus I don't really have the cash to buy anothing else.
