Hey All,
I've been looking at a Kreiga US-40 tailpack for my SV as my hopeless buffalo rucksack has finally fallen apart. I've always hated having a rucksack on as i don't like the idea of bouncing down the road with a load of gear strapped to me, so a tailpack is quite appealing. I'm mainly looking for something big enough and dry enough to get my laptop to work and back (120 mile round trip) along with all the other cables, tools and hardware i have to haul about, on the rare nice day i use the bike for work! I've seen loads of people comment on these positively but i don't know anyone who owns their gear so before i hit the big shiny order button, has anyone got any advice which should change my mind? Cheers! Crash Artist |

Hi, was looking at the US-10 or 20 myself. It take it your aware that the US-40 is 3 packs joined together ( one US-20 and two US-10's ).
All reviews i've read are good though and seem better than anything else available at present |

I've got the us20 and got the tank bag converter at the same time (in case the mrs wants to come along).
I have got loads of faith in the tail pack and it stays put on the back of the bike well but am unsure of the tanbag converter after seeing binky's bike. I was chatting to Binky whilst I was waiting for the RAC (long story) and he showed me the marks on his tank from his. Might just be a reaction to the paint on his as his paint is non standard but its made a bit of a mess ![]() |

I would say go for it. I have a US20 and like you take my bike to work on the odd nice day. I do manage to fit my laptop in there as well as power cable and could still have a bit of spare room. Think it all depends on the size of your laptop. I actually took my laptop to a bike shop that stocked kriega and tried it for size. Once I was happy it all fitted then I ordered online for much cheaper.

I've got the US20 and the US10 and definitly recommend them plus they come with a 10 year guarantee.
The US10 is perfect for a days riding carrying drinks, food, waterproof, fleece, camera etc. I bought the 20 for carrying big folders to work and back and it's been ideal. Am going to get another US10 to make a nice touring setup as you can easily strap them all together. |

I bought a US-20 and the R-35 rucksack from Kriega, they are the poodle noodles, reccomend to anyone on a bike. I rode through what can only be described as a monsoon 2 weeks back and everything inside my US-20 was bone dry.

I have a fair bit of kriega stuff and have my hands on lots more of it. As a genral rule its better than a lot of the other stuff. Is it worth the money? thats a different question. I have the k20 backpack, k25 and us10. also played with the us20 and k35.
The us20 is the one i would go for again. Its probably the best bit of kit they do and isnt the most expensive. I have also had issues witht he tank adaptor and it is not compatable with rattle can celulose paint in my optionion. |

I live just down the road from Kriega, friendly bunch they are.
I have one US-10 and one US-20. I cannot even remember the last day ride I did without the US-10 strapped to the pillion seat. The kit is expensive... but the amount of times I've used mine (including some horrendous weather when they've stayed bone dry), I'd say they're worth it. If I had to carry something on odd occasions where I knew the weather would be alright, I'd probably get a tankbag. Paid £14 for one from Lidl when they had their specials on and whilst it's not waterproof, it was a bargain and have no problems with it. |
