Las Vegas - feel the stag!

In January I'm off to Vegas for a friend's wedding, and the stag day/night is going to be out there (in many ways) a couple of days beforehand. I'm doing the usual homework on what there is to do in such a place, but has anyone got any tips? Good clubs etc.? Things that you just have to do/avoid?

A bit more specifically... anyone tried the rides on top of the Stratosphere? Apparently throwing him out of a plane (with parachute) is off the cards, but I'm contemplating an organised kidnapping. Perhaps by Elvis. Also the Star Trek thing seems to have closed, to their great consternation, ash well, I wasn't really looking forward to eating the Wrap of Khan in the Trekko bar.

all depends what you want. vegas has so much about it, from the cheese to the amazing natural wonders.

if you're going to fly 11 hours and dont go to the grand canyon then you are a madman. many many trips can be had, try to find one which either gives to a helicopter trip and landing at the base of the canyon or one which takes in the skywalk

cant help you with clubs but there's hundreds

the rides on the Strat are mental, give it a go.

im went there 18 months ago for my 40th but only stayed 5 days as i then moved on to NYC, but am off there again in 5 weeks for 2 weeks so will give you more of an update then

take LOTS of money, you'll need it.

Free drink in the Casinos I was in on the "new" strip.

Sit at a 25c puggy and tip a dollar a beer. Waitress service 24hrs a day.

Drink not cheap in resteraunts/bars.

going back again this year with 15mates for 12 nights, we went last years for 7 and can't wait to go back! it's just an incredible place.

we meant to go to the gunstore and do the shooting thing but never got round to it! hoping to go this year.

never went to any of the massive 'super club' typenplaces but be prepared to queue and pay $50 to get in! but really any of the big clubs are supposed to be good.

the rollercoasters on the stratosphere are amazing! I didn't have the guts to go on them, but fair play to anyone that does! it's right down at one end of the strip and takes ages to walk there. but u do get to walk past the crappy apartment blocks from the hangover/nation lampoons Vegas vacation andrhe wedding chapel from te hangover too!

make the stag do/night a Friday or saturdy as the place will be a lot busier. you might even want to look into the pool parties at the hard rock or wet republic that they do on Sundays as these are supposed to be awesome!
