Been tasked to do a leaving speach with animated texted, graphics, music + photos...

I know the very billy basics of Power point, but is there anything on the market better to do it?

Cheers

I have used Open Office for some time, since my PGCE and find it some what nicer to use and quite intuitive.

I could never get OO to work on my old lappie... If you've already got Powerpoint I'd use it, rather than downloading what is after all a copy of Powerpoint.

I use it quite a bit, and I find it fine - just not quite identical to Excel. What bit doesn't work for you?

Problem is, it is easy to do a naff power point presentation.

My boss described my last one as boring and lacking in imagination. and then conceded he like me had no artistic ability, had lots of ideas of how the presentation should look but lacked the skills to make power point do what we wanted.

For instance how the hell do you create a slide that has bullet points flying in over time, and has a single text area that allows you to add descriptive text for the active bullet point, or as the mouse hovers over the bullet point. Let me guess masses of VBA

If you're going to use OO, make sure the puter you're gonna use it on will play it, otherwise red faces all round and a lot of work down the pan. I've created word docs in OO and couldn't open them on the office PC

I have a very old but basic how to do PP book, if you want it for free, but I found it just as easy to play around with PP
