Default Tyre Advice

Hey guys, been lurking around the forums for a while taking in as much info (and enjoying the banter) for when i passed my test which i have now done.
My question is will the stock tyres be okay on my 06 SV?
In the past 4 years its done 2600 miles, but was sat around in a garage for about 14 months before i bought without any use. Tread depth is ample.
Will they be good for another year? or should i replace sooner.
Cheers

I think they will be fine, given the chemicals and UV radiation tyres designed to resist while on the road. Being in a garage on the bike won't affect them to much, as long as they were correctly inflated. I have an old tyre on a BMW metric rim that is too good to chuck, but no one wants due to the size, that I'd put on a car tomorrow with no qualms, it still looks perfect.

However, I wouldn't think they will last a year, you will wear them out through riding, won't you?

Congratulations on the pass!

Cheers Mike, its been my first morning out today! Not done much milage, ive been busy talking to my instructors, work colleagues etc!
From what little miles i have done, all i can is the SV handles like a dream, and pulls like a machine.

They'll be fine! To be honest and no offence intended but if you've just passed your test you probably wont be riding them ragged to soon anyway, so save the unneccessary expense and get yourself something else with the money, Scott-oiler, some new gear, a service. etc etc
well done on passing and take it easy!!
