when going along at a steady speed my bike suddenly bogs down and loses power then it returns after a second? its a 2001 curvy

I'm certainly not the most experienced but my thought processes are:
Does it tick over ok? Possibly carp in the tank/fuel filter/carbs? What speed does it happen, how often? Do clocks stop working during this bogging down? I.e does rev counter drop to 0? |

Does it only happen at a certain rpm?
