there are a number of traffic lights that have a sensor to detect cars and then they change, BUT they dont pick up motorbikes, so if you jumped one of these what would the police's view be?
should i complain to the local council? just one of these is on the way home from work and its a pain waiting for a car to pull up behind me, and the diverted way around takes much longer, |

There used to be one in Reading. I always waited until I was sure there was no other traffic and went for it. What else are you going to do. Especially when it's late at night and could be a while before the next vehicle comes along.

Report to your local council, they will get it sorted.

I used to, theres one near me on my way into work. I know the traffic light sequence and it's got a good view down the road so I jump the lights and turn right across the carriageway.
I figured out though that if I brake hard and jump down on the bike over the sensors they would then pick me up. Sometimes I forget though so it's jumping the lights again for me.

I would complain to the council anyway, and do it in writing. That way if someone ever did book you, you could speak to a solicitor and find out if you have a case.

There is one at the exit to my Preston site. Whilst there are probably no more than 3 motorcycles use the site in any day. Apparently it has been like that for over 10 years. One guy told me he has when on a late shift had to wait over 10 mins for a car to leave the site and trigger it.
Numerous complaints have been mad, nothing ever happens

they are really frustrating.
There is a set near me and the light allow you to cross a dual carriageway so you can't really go through them during the day and you can wait ages. They have been like that for at least 6 years and numerous complaints have been made! Always worth making another complaint though!
