Default Carbed v Fuel injection performance?

Hi there. Looking at buying a sv650 in the next wee while. Is there much of a perfromance difference from the early carb models to the later Injection models??

I was looking at racing it an wondered about cost against price?

Thanks.

Not that you'd notice. Injected SV's have a a little more BHP but its not more than 2 or 3 IIRC.

Cams, EFI has slightly hotter intake cams. Swap cams to solve.

Go for cheap carbed bike, spend the money saved on a good rear shock and fork setup.

Curvy carb models slip through the air better thanks to their smooth and beautiful curves, makes up for the different cams and fuel injection..... honest

You can get a power commander for EFI

You can rejet a carburetor. What's your point?

In all seriousness, I was under the assumption that FI could, at race level, be fine-tuned far more efficiently than carb?

Or is this all rubbish.

I.e If you took a carb and FI, added the same mods, the FI could reach the highest performace levels, and more "easily" (easily meaning a PC doing all the work as opposed to trying out different jets, with smaller increments able to be made)

Yeah it can, that's why motoGP bikes have EFI.

But if you want to wring a lot of power out of an SV, then either fit FCR41 carbs, or bored out throttle bodies. It won't make much difference to power.
