Default C Spanner for SV1000 preload?

I have had my SV1000S for just over a month and I am having trouble finding C Spanner to do the rear pre-load.

The 1000 for some reason doesn't come with one. I have a friend who owns a car garage and he asked his Snap-on account manager who told him that I should go to my local dealer to get one because they do them in 0.5mm increments.

I phone my local Suzuki Dealer today and they told me they dont do "specialist tools" and to try Snap-on where their mechanics get their tools - its only a C Spanner!!

I have changed the pre-load a few times with a spanner and a hammer but I dont want to do this for too long and I will need to change the preload on a regular basis because I use my bike daily for work and then my Mrs goes pillion sometimes.

Cheers

Rob, machine mart used to sell c spanners, they are over in hay mills, cant see them being much.

You can get them hinge type ones that accomodate a few sizes.

Yes mate thats the one, if you know the size you need exactly though i'd get the right size, generally the fixed ones are cheaper and less likely to slip.
