Question Unidentified oil leak.

My sv650 sk1 has developed an oil leak, its mostly noticeable when the bike is parked as it leaves a spot on the ground, defo used oil n not coolant etc.
I am aware that the k1's suffered from the plastic clutch housing and I was wondering does anyone have any tips or recommendations to prove it is this and is there any other common faults i should know about with the oil system. Also if it is a warped clutch cover is it swappable with an x or a k2 etc if they had metal clutch covers?
I am aware of the flaw but dont know much abt it. any specific help regarding the sk1 would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks org!!!

Clean the engine thoroughly then go for a run - this should make it clear where the oil is coming from.
All Curvy clutch cases are the same.

when you get a new oil filter for servicing dont you get a replacement o-ring for the joint? I may have located the cause of the leak, il keep posting when I find out.

I believe I have solved the problem, oil appeared to be pooling at the bottom of the filter so I put a rag round it n had a swing n sure enough it gave a wee crack n I got about another 1.5 turns on it (hand tight) so i then put a white rag under it and let it heat up and run on idle for about 5 min, reved it a bit, let it idle some more and turned it off... its been cooling for about 10 minutes now and so far no oil spots, might get to test it tonight, if not I will post after work tomro and let everyone know the verdict! thank god its not the clutch cover anyway, this could be a much easier job touch wood, but heres hoping!!!
