Default Power Commander 3 buttons - what do they do?

Hi found this What ranges (low, mid, high) do the face plate buttons affect my fuel curve?

All Models

A.

All Power Commanders are set up to split the bikes' usable rpm (idle to redline) into thirds. The button adjustments affect a throttle position ranges in that rpm section.

As an example, for a bike that revs to 9,000 rpm the button would work in the following way
Low: idle to 3,000 rpm
Mid: 3,001 to 6,000 rpm
High: 6,001 to redline

But what does it mean?

It means you can do some basic alterations at the road side using those buttons. I would 100% recommend not! What you need to do with a PC3 is either get it mapped on a dyno or take it off.

I put it on a dyno just to check power out put with a box standard map from the power commander site and he said it was pretty close just between 6.5 and 8k revs there is a light dip in fuel so he said getting the sorted would give me between 5-10 hp.

the buttons allow some level of manual adjustment without re-mapping using the computer software. Do yourself a favour and get it remapped properly on a dyno, leave the three buttons well alone.

5-10bhp at that range I guess? That is a big gain from a small amount out, to get that sort of gain you'd have to be about 10% out on the fuelling, which is not a "light dip", Sounds a little suspect to me, im sure most of these people just chat **** to try and get your money. Where abouts is it?

A good example is my own graph (see sig), my standard fuelling was WAY off (blue) aftermarket chip (other two, one with baffles one without) and you can see the jump, that is going from way lean to almost bang on... Thing is that is only at full throttle, which is a pretty pointless measurement as its pretty rarely used. When I eventually get round to getting mine setup ill make a point of him getting the low RPM low throttle right first, as that is where most of the riding is done, and also where you feel the most effect of bad fuelling.

I can't see it either... to me, your Sig is mostly white on light grey. Guess the blue readers can't see the link

Nick, go to the bottom of the page and in the box on the left choose "New vB default style" and then look at your Sig. You can't see it I don't know how anyone can view in Black. It does my eyes in
