Hi all - I just thought I would rasie the topic of waterproof gear esspecially coz of the recent down pour. Anyone actually know of REALLY TRUELY waterproof gear - I've got a Frank THomas All weather textile jacket (not Goretex for waterproof guaranteeed) it's got three layers to it, 1 warm layer, 1 waterproof layer and the out water repellant layer but if it ****ing down - I'll still get soaked. I've got goretex Rukka All weather textile trousers which are good but only truely work if you have the under layer on which at the moment is way too hot. I had a pair of goretex Dianese textile trousers sent back to the manufacturer as I got drenched around the groin and thighs.....and they claimed that there was nothing wrong with them. Only thing that seems to be waterproof is my helmet! Any comments????

I have a hein gericke waterproof gore tex leather suit. Kept me toasty and dry all the way round scotland. Mind you I haven't had it on in a downpour like today yet!

I have a set of duchini textile trousers. Have been totally waterproof and keep me nice n warm during the winter. Also have a cheap textile jacket, which suprisingly has also been fully waterproof.

After getting soaked several times in my "waterproof" suit I decided to invest in a Hein Gericke Tricki III Goretex suit. I've been trough some stormy weather including some scary hale on M25 and totally impressed with them. Not a single drop of water inside.
http://londonbikers.com/articles/119...le-suit-review Well apart from the a soaking wet iPhone and wallet which I left on the outside (not so waterproof) pockets. There are waterproof pockets on the inside though. |

Ive got the tricky 2 jacket myself.
Regardless of the model tho its Goretex all the way baby!! Goretex gloves from HG, Goretex boots from Sidi, trousers are HG too but not gortex and 5yrs old and still not let me down, lets hope they remain that way too. The spandex spidey suit isnt goretex sadly but my bum does look good in it ![]()

![]() but yea my textiles have let in a couple of times in properly horrendous rain, so if its really bad i woud whip on a standard "Peter Storm" rain coat on top of it and it works a charm. a guy i know has a Hein Gericke one piece waterproof suit and it seems to have kept him dry |

HG Goretex jacket, 100% waterproof after 3 years and 20,000+ miles.
HG Goretex gloves, 100% waterproof after 1 year and 10,000 miles Spada Enforcer gloves, 100% waterproof after 1 year and 3,000 miles (they also got used during this year's snowboarding season and served me well) Lewis textile trousers, 100% after 3 years and 20,000 miles (BUT... 0% breathable, so I end up with a major case of betty swollocks so kinda defeats the point a little). Daytona Evo Sports Goretex boots, 100% waterproof after 6 months and 3,000 miles. This is my waterproof kit, I've been through some other stuff that's leaked at some point but I rely on this lot and none of it has let me down at all yet. |
