anyone know if the 3 bolts are the same dimensions / same place for all bolt-on cans? or are they bike specific?
reason i ask is im after a ****ter of a can for the thunderace to stubby but there isn't any on evilbay, i wanted to see if others would fit as it seems a waste to cut up a new can. Last edited by Wideboy; 12-10-10 at 07:38 PM. |

It would appear after a short but extensive search the answer is that Thunderace cans are bike specific...

Some fit several bikes such as old ZX6Rs fit Bandit 1200s and TTs. My blade has a three bolt mounting too.
Let me know the dimensions of centre to centre of the bolt holes and the outer diameter of the gasket hole and I'll measure my ZX6R and Blade ones for you. Oh also let me know roughly where the holes are although if you get a round can to stubby it won't make a difference. Also be aware that some cans are a bitch to stubby. I believe you can't stubby Microns. |

Thunderace has the same three bolt spacing as early B12, ZRX1100, (not 12), RF900, ZX6-R 98-02 and TT600/Speed Four.
Some RF600s have the same fitting, some have the same as GSXR750, careful when buying. It's not the same as 'Blade or GSXR three bolt spacing, but some GSXR cans will fit if you enlarge the mounting end about 4mm and you'll need to slot the mounting holes on your downpipes about 3mm.
