Default a non-existing safety issue? Engine cuts but sidestand and clutch switches disabled.

Yesterday I started my engine and clicked it in the first gear.... immediately the engine was switched off. Switched off, like I put out the jiffy or so.
The jiffy switch has been disabled though.
I repeated this several times but every time the engine stopped. Then after a while it kept running without a problem.

Does anyone know if there is a safety switch in the gearbox?
(If yes... it has to be disabled, like I will undo the clutch handle switch!)

Thanks

By 'jiffy switch' do you mean the sidestand cut out switch, or the clutch switch?

Relay can also go faulty even if switch is fine. I prefer to bypass whole relay.

+1 had this issue on my '02 SVs. Kept killing the engine mid corner! eventualy narrowed it down to the relay, not the switch. bypassed and problem solved.

I have gone through the electrical diagram but I cannot clear how and which realy I should bypass.

Would you be able to produce a more or less detailed decription of what you have done?

Been a while since I owned an SV mate. I know there is a relay pack (I think next to the fuse box) under the riders seat. the relay will a number of wires entering it -you need to bridge the two wires whch control the ignition system, thus bypassing the relay all together. Someoen who still has a curvy should be able to give you a better answer as without looking, I can't really be any more accurate.

Maybe YC can help, I know he still has a curvy.
