That's not good. Although how they ever sold anything with the way they priced bikes up I will never know.

They have gone into administration or receivership. A friend of mine has a bike in their workshops and is hoping it doesn't get returned in bits

Remind your mate to contact the administrators as soon as they are appointed to inform them that the company has some of his property. Otherwise he could find it being auctioned and joining the unsecured creditors for any leavings after the vultures (Administrators and VAT) have had their fill.

it will help, but DVLA have changed V5's to look like the attached which makes it clear that it is not proof of ownership
