Question Anyone take their bike out today?

I rode to and from work. The back roads near my house weren't gritted at all and were frozen solid, main roads slippy and slushy.

Managed to keep it upright all the time with only a couple minor slips, quite surprised really, didn't seem too bad a journey to be honest.

It was a CG125 in case you were wondering, wouldn't dare take the SV out in this.

Anyone else?

Yup same as you but on a serrow 225 offroader.
It's not that I wouldn't dream of taking the zx6r. It's just that it's the sensible option as it's available.

Nope. Got a lend of a car. Getting cold here now (-6) so after having some "fun" for a coupla days in the fresh snow...its now all frozen and the roads are in a bad way.

Soon as the main roads get properly treated and the roads look wet I'll start using SV again. Temps looking bad for next week so not holding out much hope.

These things on the other hand...

... are just about perfect but not very legal. Great for practicing highsides.

I ran it for ten minutes whilst I fitted the new brake lever. Bikes at work are grounded, so cars and Jeepsfor now...

Stu,

ZX6r?

Where's the beige 10?

It was bad enough trying to get my car out of my road whih hasn't been gritted. No way I'm taking the bike anywhere. My surgeon has already warned me that my ulna is still weak after the op and if I'm going to slip on the ice I should try to land on my ar$e and not my elbow!

Yep, took the barge that is the ZZR out and binned it on some ice, but both bike and rider are fine. Twas a 1/4 hill and absolutely sheet ice acrosss the entire width. 250kg loaded up with all my tools is hard to control on ice! still made it there and now back home safe too - result, 160 miles and I can still feel my toes!

Sucks about binning it, good its not damaged at all though. Have been craving a ride all week, but knowing i cant get outside Plymouth without hitting snow and ice unless being on a main busy road is putting me off abit.
