Started up the GSXR on Saturday after winter hibernation
Had to bump start it a few times as the battery was not in a good way (optmiate is obviously knackered) After riding to London and back i gave it some wellie on a dual carriage way and then let off the throttle and it gave one heck of a backfire from the exhaust It does not sould right now (in my mind) i have checked the system and i cannot see anything obvious but as it has its mot tomrrow ![]() Any suggestions if it could of done damage? |

It is a straight through pipe
so the power valves will have been removed It sounds louder I checked the headers as much as i could and all the pipe work but no gapping holes or sections missing The exhaust is still geting hot. I thought i might have blown a section of the exhaust out as it seems loud now with the baffle in. ![]() |

It sounds louder because it has been sat in the garage for so long you have forgotten what it sounds like,,,,
![]() TBH, I haven't a bloody clue. Feel free to ride down and I will look over it with a knowing eye, and then put the kettle on. ![]() |

Can't be that much wadding in there as it was practically a straight through pipe.
Tony: Would be good for the knowing eye to have a look over and as you know what it sounded like before might be helpful too Might pop up if it passes the MOT. I was thinking of going round to helmet city over the weekend if it was nice. |
