Default Indicator lights on dash

When an indicator is flashing, does the corresponding flash indicator on the dash flash on-off-on-off, or does it flash bright-dim-bright-dim?

I'm wiring in new indicator mirrors and the dash is flashing bright-dim-bright-dim, but I can't remember if that is normal or not.....

Yes. Before I had LED's on the rear, bulbs on the front. Now I'm putting LED's all round, but even with the front LED's disconnected the dash still flashes bright-dim-bright-dim

IIRC it's not the indicators but the relay you add to keep the flash rate down, you can add a diode somewhere in the circuit or put up with it...

The LEDs don't use up all the power going through that part of the circuit, so the rest is going straight to the dash lights. I'm thinking that having the bulbs on the front added enough load/resistance to keep the unused power low enough that the dash wasn't being lit. If it's anything like adding HIDs (needing a transformer), you have to change the relays out to match the new circuit load. This is my best guess at least. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the correct change is, but I bet you can find it on svrider.com.

I connected a bulb indicator back in and the dash started flashing on-off-on-off. So I'm happy it's not a problem with my wiring

What diode or relay cures it?
