Yeah I was. I was just about to start a thread with the exact same title!
Met a few mates and headed to Boreham, met loads more, then found out one of them had highsided on his R1 while coming out to meet us. We all turned up at Broomfield hospital (about 9 bikes..! caused a stir, the good kind) to find out we beat the ambulance lol. Broken collar bone in 2 places, nasty. Went from there to Haverhill (Comfort Cafe) through Sudury, some decent roads. Experienced my first full on tank slapper on the way there whle overtaking. Hit a bump as I was coming back into lane, and off she went. Everyone behind me apparently hit the anchors, expecting me to come off! Luckily I was too stunned to react, which is a good thing, as the bike sorted itself out. Today I was really "in the zone", and for the first time it felt like my suspension (or lack of) really hindered me. Damping, compression or rebound - I dont know which one, but going fast round even slightly bumpy corners felt like I was wrestling with the bike. Its like the front and back just arent reacting fast enough, really frustrating. Aside from the slapper and suspension though it was ace. Dry, brisk but warm with the new compression thermals, really felt like I was in attack mode! Was defo a feel good ride, much faster and relaxed on the twisties. Getting a bit bored also of how short the SV gears are. Doesnt help that I ride with litre+ bikes, I'm on the limter in 2 or 3 gears to their 1 haha. Not a chance in hell. Can keep up ok most of the time but on a big straight they have their front wheels in the air while I'm tucked in trying to keep up! Ah, all in all, definately feel like I have progressed. Tank slapper was, strangely, quite a highlight - just glad to have experienced it and not come off! Now off looking for a faster bike with better suspension, that I cant afford ![]() |

Take your mates around some proper roads rather than all straightline power ranger crap.
![]() If you have a pair you can show pretty much any sportsbike a clean pair of heels on right road. Get up here for AR and I'll show you you don't need a sportsbike for a good few 10,000miles yet ![]() I got out for 50 or so fairly steady miles.

If I led we'd be lost within minutes! Its not all straight roads, there are a few straights/fast curving roads of course.
I shall be at the AR - looking forward to seeing what Yorkshire has to offer! Suspendies really ****ing me off though. Also not saying I am better than what the bike can offer, I just get bored easily lol. If I had the cash I'd be a serial bike switcher I'm sure! I want to experience more bikes! |

Its true - 175hp is no good if you can only just get 2nd gear, like when I took the GSXR to the hardy bikers...
