Concentrate on your riding skills, there is no way you are going to make an SV as quick as the GSXR.

Arghhh!!! You should have bought a Supersports 600 instead of a not a gals bike....

Too late now and since it's pretty impossible to make a silk purse out of pigs ear, just concentrate on riding the sh*t outta it

Suspension mods would be the only thing I would bother with. A decent rear shock and cartridge emulators or front end conversion will make a big improvement to the handling.

Let down their tyres, loosen lots of nuts, pierce their brake lines etc etc... you get the idea.

The people I go riding with, all have litre/900cc bikes, a 190hp '06 ZX10r, a 170hp '09 Fireblade and a 145hp ZX9r. In the real world my stock K6 SV can tag along without feeling too stretched. A 600 should ok to tag along with.

and

Good brake service, braided lines and decent condition air filter.
Don't bother with the supersticky track tires use a decent Sports touring

Cheers guys!! I know I can't make an sv as quick as a gxsr... But just
Dnt want to be left behind badly... I think the next step would be a k&n
air filter!! Would there be much point fire out £300+ for a power comander? Is there a limiter on a sv? Just got a phone call saying I mite not get bike to next week as the dealer selling it can't get m.o.t date ggggrrrr

Any mods you make for more power wont make the blindest bit of difference. Like Mike said, concentrate on sorting the suspension out.

Unless you chuck some serious cash at the SV you wont get more than a few bhp (even then?). You'd get it to fuel better and smooth it out, but in terms of keeping up, I dont think it'd make any noticeable difference.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying dont do it, its your bike, your money. Just dont splash loads of cash and expect it to make loads of difference in terms of keeping up!

Of course, it does also depend on how fast they ride and what sort of roads you ride. If its all twisties, then you'll keep up fine. Straight line, forget it!
