Default Menace on the Roads EF54YNL

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOuSESgkDY0

Happend to me this morning road barely wide enough for two cars to pass and double white lines, take a look and make your own minds up, scared the **** out of me. Reported to Essex Police but no interest, they seem to focus on speed and not muppets like this

What were you riding? Your road positioning was not very "defensive" which probably encouraged those overtakes, although that is no excuse for their poor driving judgement of course.

Agreed.

If you ride in the cack at the side of the road, you can expect people to try and pass you.

Although, The way that the cam is all over the place, It looks like its filmed on a push bike.

Judging by the speed I take it you are on a push bike. Granted they are close and crossing the doubles but very few people will slow down to a cyclists pace for double white lines unless it means colliding with an oncoming vehicle. Not necessarily good road craft but a fact of life

This would never have happened on the SV.

Was on a push bike 3 feet from the edge of the road. I normally pull in just past where this van overtook to let traffic pass as the road is narrow here, wouldn't believe until this happened anyone would try to overtake here with an oncoming directly opposite and my road position, not happend to me in the last 2 years of cycling this road.

Interesting opinion G, IMO so are some car and van drivers but we have to put up with them too.

When I used to work in Nottingham cyclist were rediculous.

They had a cycle path but yet still insisted on using the road and causing massive tailback, jumping red lights, generally being a nightmare.

Taring with the same brush I suppose.
