Default Sorry, Sorry, GSXR conversion question

Apols i am sure you lot have heard it all before, but my calipers are siezed and pads and discs arn't looking healthy hence i am looking at a GSXR front end conversion, i would like inverted forks, for the unsprung weight. and the bigger gixxer calipers for the better braking.

i am very mechanically minded (Motorsport Engineer) and been working on cars. and from looking at the front end its only 8 bolts holding the front end on: (4 bolts on each yoke) is this correct..

what front end do i need ???? GSXR 600 , 750 , 1000 (what years??)

and i need the forks down??

Do i need the yokes aswell etc etc .

any other advice,

where to buy them from Ebay? breakers?

Many thanks

you need a complete front end preferably from the same bike. wheel, mudguard, callipers, yokes and so forth.

Apolygies i am very new to bikes, could you explain.

so i need a front end from the same year bike as my own (2004)

obviously i need everything below the forks (wheel mudguard calipers, discs pads)

the yokes? are they the top and bottom bits that the forks bolt to?

if i need the yokes aswell, how do the yokes bolt to the frame?? or is it headstock?

thanks for your patience.

yes you need everything including the yokes (complete front end) from a GSXR preferably from years 2000 onwards. you dont have to match the same year as your bike. to stay safe go for gsxr 600/750 2004-2005 as there are a lot of permutations that fit those forks using different callipers discs and so forth.

from what i have read

you need

taperd head stock bearings
top and bottom yokes (yep the bits the forks conect to)
forks
calipers
wheel ect

then you have to find away of getting the spedo to work, if you have the sv650 s you need the clipons from a tl

i also think there is somthing with the brake lines aswell

but im sure that someone who has done it will be along soon to tell you more.

you dont need tapered bearings. but since your in there then why not do it and never look at them again.

go and find a pair of forks you would like to use and post a pic or tell us the bike and year they are off and we can take it from there.
