Thanks for last month I wasnt expecting to win with such great entries.
OK so in an attempt to level the playing field so that everyone with a camera can have a go. This months competition is to take a photo of an egg. Not to teach you to suck eggs but ... the idea is that everyone takes a photo of the same item, just with their spin on it. Lighting an even round surface is trickier then first seems so I hope that even though it might seem like a mundane item, it turns out to be more fun then you might think. (I´m also sure this might put you off voting for me in future vote off´s ![]() So here is my quick example, taken tonight with D90 (and highlights lovely the table´s crappy surface!) ![]() usual rules apply Last edited by Richie; 04-05-11 at 05:47 AM. |

Oh I remember this, one of the exercises in the book, now I presume you ment exterior lighting, however the intriguing thing about eggs (if there is such a thing) is they aren't linier in construction as far as thickness is concerned, this translates to varying light transmission through it.
By no means my original idea, but I've had a quick go at recreating something I saw a while back, on a longer exposure the thinner shell appears to emit rays of light.....(and it makes it look like the moon or some scifi planet). I though it was pretty cool ![]() Taken with Canon 20D standard kit 18-55 lens. ![]()

Last minute entry, I ended up with a similar shot to Rictus but tried to take a different slant.
