My Shoei Raid II is due for replacement and the BMF is fast approaching.
Anyone recommend a quiet helmet. Of coarse fit and comfort are my top priority, but my Raid II does get a lot of wind noise. Tempted to look for a Shark RSR2 or one of them there retro X-Lites, but I want to keep an open mind. How does this table stack up from MCN http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/Pr..._/R-EPI-117042 Last edited by BigBaddad; 04-05-11 at 07:27 AM. |

For quiet I would recommend Schuberth or BMW Evo,both come from Schuberth, neither of which are cheap but extremely comfortable and the least noisy helmets I have ever had. With regard to the X-Lite I think HG had them reduced.I need a new lid myself as my AGV is useless without earplugs but the earplugs are cheaper than a new Schuberth.-------------HAPPY HUNTING

I had an r1 Shuberth, it was noticeably quieter than my current Arai Quantum, but as DT says, if you want really quiet use ear plugs.

Got an unlimited supply of butt, we I mean ear plugs at work.
Think my problem is that at 6'3" I get wind blast on my neck, which bounces straight up into my lid. Taller screen me thinks, if I can find one I like. |

Shoei Qwest is supposed to be pretty good or noise levels according to the blurb.

+1 for the Qwest, i have one, even on motorway without ear plugs the noise is not an issue.....but then i have nothing to compare it to as its my first "proper" helmet.

I have a brand new qwest, and I bought it after having a XR1000. It is a lot quieter, and the vents are amazing. It seems to have a bigger visor giving a bigger field of vision also. It is also very very comfy on.

I've been looking at a new helmet and have read up what I can on the Qwest, from the blurb it is basically a more "touring" oriented version of the Xr1100 but shares a lot of common feature/spec stuff. The Qwest is aimed at a more upright riding position apparently.
Good to hear generally favourable reviews from Qwest owners, if it fits me I'll be seriously considering it.
