After a search i found a few threads about the rear exhaust footpeg hanger brackets going rusty & the subframe itself. Did anyone in here suss out what they needed to do & what paint to use to repair this?
Here's some pics, have a look at your own in these areas! ![]() ![]() Thats what rear huggerless sv's look like!

Learn to maintain your bike, take it apart, rebuild the engine & more (using better bolts ![]() K3 Job c.v: Engine:remove/split/rebuild/refit. Replace:Gearbox,Fuel pump,Gaskets. Piston clean,rings. Overhaul:Throttle body,Injectors,Brakes,Forks. Remove/refit:Exhaust,Radiator,Oil cooler,Throttle,Air filter,Tank. Replace: Oil,Coolant,grease,brake hoses & bleed. I had a similar thing on the rear subframe of my curvy.
I took it off, had it sand blasted and powder coated, not expensive to really just a bit time consuming stripping the back end down and then sending off for coating and then putting it all back together again.

Powder coating is the way forward.
I think is about £40 ish to have done

Try spray Hammerite if you are on a budget , about £10 a tin.

Not hammerite, use silver smoothrite, its fairly close to the OEM.
But I agree with the others get it powdercoated Swingarm, sidestand & footrest hangers in chrome silver powder coat

If you're keeping it then powder coat it, if you're tidying up to sell then silver Smoothrite is a very good match and lasts well if you apply it properly
