Default Fuel Economy Due to Dyno Set Up:

Further to Instigator posting that his current SV is more fuel efficient than his previous ones. My current curvy is running a KN race air filter and IXIL or MHP end can and was set up on the Dyno by Dyno bike at Malton. Besides feeling crisper it is returning 60 to 65 MPG running at a reasonable pace. This is 5 to 10 MPG better than my previous SV's. Years ago I had a GT750 Suzuki with K&N fiters and 3 expansion chamber exhausts and it was considerably better on fuel than with the stack set up(no jetting mods). Therefore it may pay to have your SV set up on the Dyno.

Can anybody recommend any dyno places around Buckinghamshire/Northamptonshire? My bike is an import and I've heard they have to pass noise tests, which means that they have to limit power in 2nd and that this isn't always done efficiently by the ECU!

There seem to be 3 places in Malton!

Dynobike - 01653 699216
John Warrington Motorcycles - 01653 698258

Sorry - the third is in Driffield!

I will have to have a bit of a ring about today, only one place I know of in Hull and he was unable to give a definitive quote more a speculative one.

Did they actually re-jet the carbs as part of the dyno session?

A dyno run just gives you a printout of the bhp & torque.

They dont adjust anything, just tell you what needs done to maximise air/fuel ratio,so its handy to know exactly what needs adjusted.

My local garage charges £30+vat.

The carburation was set up to suit the exhaust and K&N Race filter and was not just a power output measurement. Dynobike have a good reputation in race circles for setting up fuelling to match mods carried out.
