Default Kevlar jeans

Hi all.
Looking for views on Kevlar jeans for the commute to work. Only about 10 mins thru town so not gonna be wearing leathers and then sit in work in them or have to change in there.

Got Halvarssons gloves and picked up a catalogue at the time so the Lindstrands Yago are currently top of the list. They use HiArt instead of Kevlar but it seems to be the same stuff in effect.

I know Draggin are prob the most known but Held seemingly have full Kevlar protection as opposed to partial coverage preferred by Draggin and RST amongst others.

Sooo, bearing in mind that I have full Berik leathers for full ride outs and know that Kevlar jeans are not as good, but I still want a pair, what do you folks think or recommend?

Evening, firstly try here for a thread I did a little while ago when in the same position as your self. http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=163846
Second, nothing wrong with the Kevlar it's just the jeans bit that make people scoff at your appearance.

I know it's marketing but watch the videos on sartso's website - they don't lie, the Kevlar holds up better in a slide than leathers, in impact both are equally useless though

My advice: satsco plus knee inserts = winner.

Nice one.

So it's Sartso or Lindstrands or Held.

I have a pair of Hood jeans - they are full kevlar all the way down to the ankle - way too warm to wear in the office all day - but I think you can get a pair with kevlar "patches" instead now.

Admittedly I wear full leathers if I ride to work, but that's a 2hr ride at over 110klm/hr. Getting changed out of leathers into a collar n tie takes no more than 5 mins if you're organised.

As for riding jeans...the two pairs I've bought over the years have been a let-down tbh. Draggin-Jeans look daggy, wore well for 3yrs, but faded badly and developed weak spots at critical stitching areas. From a mates experience of coming off when they're new, I know they work, but after a while I cannot be confident. Icon jeans looked awesome and did well for a while, but weak areas showed within months...to the point that I don't trust wearing them on the bike at all! Following washing instructions n doing everything properly, they just seemed to fall apart around the kevlar stitching...not a product I'd recommend in a blind fit!

I'll still stick to my old rule of wearing full Dainese leathers when hitting speeds over 80klm/hr, knowing I've got superior protection for abrasion and resistance, rather than risking the "cheese grater".
