Default What helmet - £100-£200?

Hi people, I'm after a new helmet. My HJC CL-ST has been with me for two years and had a few knocks, but got dropped by my mate straight onto concrete a few days ago, not impressed.

Anyway, I think my HJC is great but I'm after a bit of a upgrade under £200. My main worries is that I have nothing to compare it too. I did like the AGV S4 SV, but I've heard it's too noisy. Now, to them my HJC could be more noisy, I don't know. I can't gauge it, and obviously can't test ride any helmets myself for a quick 10 minute blast, unless anybody knows of anyone who will do it for a deposit.

Can anyone recommend me some helmets? I know it's the one that fits my head blah blah, but I just wanna make a short list and see if I like them before moving onto other helmets if I can't get a good fit.

Thanks

Whether you like them or not is tucked sooo far back into second place of priorities it's not even worth considering, yet.

Go into your nearest good store which has a big range (Hein Gericke or J&S are as good a place as any to start) and try on every single sodding lid they've got.

Then, once you know exactly which one's fit your head the best - that's your shortlist!

Price, colours, designs, add-ons, comfort etc now all come into play.

RRP is £500, i got one very nice fit, bargain price and number 3 in the MCN quite helmet test

Also very light and i don't think you will get a higher spec helmet for the price.

That's true, I'm trying to get a look at my choice first before I have time off work to go to view them, probably this weekend. Just up for some pointers on certain models to avoid, etc

My friend has got one of these, he paid about £400. I could probably ask him if I can try it on for a mile to see if I get on it with road noise etc, depends if his head is roughly the same size as mine, thanks! Ps, wonder why it's so cheap on ebay? Too paranoid for my own good at times haha

Shark S800 is within budget, comes with a very good safety rating too. I've had two now, one of them crashed and stopped my head hurting rather nicely, when it hit the floor hard....the lid looked perfect with a small scratch to show for damage, but it was craashed, so once hit you need another...so I bought another without hesitation

Thats what i did, went to local store and tried the sizes on, they wanted £499 for it. Then went and got it online for £200, nothing wrong with them at all, very nice fit and they do different sizes of course
