Ur you watchin bbc wan the nicht? It's a half oor progam aboot how we aw talk in Scotland. Some braw wurds oan it, like simmit, glaikit and driech. Cum oan big man, gies sum o yir chat!

Haha. There's a bunch o lads on the tuono forum that always type in Scots. Can get a bit confusing for the Sasenachs when Weegies, Brochs, Teuchters and Fifers all chat on the same thread.

Ahhhh its finally clicked. I was wondering about how strange the name Mabozzar was and just realised thanks to all this slang talk that his second name is meant to be Itchy.

It gives me a sore head trying to decipher it - and I live up here!

Up there with txt spk in the annoying stakes for me I'm afraid. Wear a kilt, eat haggis, play the bagpipes or be mordibly obese (joke, please don't hit me!) if you're that keen to affirm your Scottishness!

A cant speak or write the Tx stuff lingo, a hae a hard enuff time o it tryin tae understaun ma own.....ye know, when theres a mixed crowd like its gonna be wi the Gm 4 boys.. an ye git a couple o jocks chewin the fat.. they jist need tae talk tae each other an the others dinna get it at awe...... we have tae slow down an pronounce our words when the English are aboot.... ayrshire has not got a patch on aberdoinan or fife lingo.

when i first came to fife i worked in a takeaway at nights and one bloke came in, started chatting away. i could not understand a feckin word he was saying. same with aber, worked there for a wee while and had a constant perplexed look on my face.
