My time has come. I have decided because I can never progress to the school of large c0cks.
No matter how many years you've been at it......successfully, it seems you get hammered down for just going out there and having fun. I love my bikes with a passion, its taken me many years of hard graft to have what I hold dear, even with two kids I've kept them.....enthusiasm no longer is appropriate to share it seems. Having the pee constantly thrown at you from those who think they are far superior to you(and only ride with me twice a year) has taken its toll Yup, I'm opinionated at times, we all are, but I've had years of stick and abuse hurled my way, and unless I turn into a massively egotistical male, who races round a track all summer and do the same on a road, it seems I am unfit to ride. I'm 34, I have two kids, a house, 2 cats and a dog, I aren't some 23 year old lass. I'm not sure it really matters any more, that people I hold in high regard think theres nowt wrong with my riding. I'm fed up of being kicked in the teeth. So maybe its just time, to grow old, smell of wee, and stagnate in a corner.

Or keep being the person you are, and they should be, and enjoy what you do the way you do it. And stick two fingers up to them on the way passed

I've only just regained momentum after having Oli, now its all gone. Two years I've waited, not that it matters.

I've grown old, probably smell of wee more than not, can't ride for toffee, but the riding I do though is precise and accurate if slower than I once did, that's what I practice, I've ridden with you and when you aren't worried about some old git taking photo, you do a well planned and executed ride, speed is easy;safe speed isn't, there are far more overconfident less skillful riders out there I'd think more than twice about riding with some of them as they ride poorly and merely compound their errors by doing it quickly is all, get it right and safe speed is attainable when and if you want it.
Of course if some feel it's a competition of some sort, then they are in for a disappointment, there's always someone better out there. "chicken strip heros" are all well and good, but bike control and great obs are what keep you alive...... I think you're wonderful for many reasons, not least for your attitude to riding* * being gorgeous and sexy doesn't hurt either......did I just say that out loud...... ![]()

I tend to just ride on me own, and let everyone past me on the road if they are in a hurry. That way I can see the world at my own speed. Never felt the need to give in to the red mist on a bike. Just ignore them, if you still like bikes don't let others put you off!!

B0llocks to that, dizzy. I've never met you (I've only been lurking around here for a few months) but you seem to be a fairly well adjusted adult with her priorities in the right place. I'm sure riding on a track is fun (I never have but I've driven round tracks quite a bit, which I enjoyed a lot) but it has NOTHING to do with riding (or driving) on the road. Braking points, racing lines, knees down; it's all fine but it has one basic thing missing - the possibility of stuff coming the other way. Believing you can ride (or drive) like a racer on the road is egotistical cr@p unless you do all your riding on one way roads.
I'm sure at this point I'll get shot down by some wannabe Power Rangers but I'm fine with that. So, dizzy, get back out of your corner, clean up the wee and grow old (ha, I've got seven years on you, you're not even vaguely old) doing whatever makes you happy. Ride for yourself, not for the Sunday Trackday Brigade. And remember, when the offending individuals take the perfect racing line round a bend and disappear under the Citroen Saxo doing the exact same thing in the opposite direction, they won't be able to kick you in the teeth any more. And you'll still have the kids, the cats, the dog and a life you're proud of. |

Nowt wrong with your riding, it certainly wasn't you that was holding up the poor wee guy at TEC over those bumpy dales roads at the weekend...
(Nope, that would have been 'that **** on the Fireblade', again!). You and that Ja-Ja-Binxy looking bike clearly get on very well together, so 'ave a word, sort it out and stick with it - sod what anyone else says! |

Live life how you want to live it, not how someone says you should.
