Default Buying another SV, differences Pointy/Curvy?

wotcha... well, a couple of years ago I picked up an SV on the cheap (had a few JHS touches ) as a winter hack and had a brilliant time. I tend to pick something up at this time of year and move it on again early summer, that way you can pretty much ride for nowt bar consumables and even make a few bob.

This year I'm looking for something light, its amazing how sportsbikes apart everything seems to be getting heavier again. I looked at a rev happy Super Four but I fancy another SV, naked or clothed. I may keep this one and gradually erm refresh it....

What I need to know is this. Purely from a handling PoV, if we're talking standard bikes on the same tyres, is there any real difference between round and pointy frames? Any problematic difference fuelling wise between FI and carbs? Suzook FI is normally spot on.... Ta for your input chaps. BTW I can also be found here, the idea is that the new hack becomes our unofficial long termer.

The frames are about the same, but the rear link on the early one is better as it's linear rather than the pointy progressive one.

The FI is pretty well behaved.

cheers chris, so I'm guessing handling wise the mk1 & 2 are very similar since geometry looks near identical and suspension differences between round and early pointy minimal. I've only ever ridden 1s. Given identical bikes miles wise, I'm guessing you'd go for the mk1 round variety...

btw is rear rim size identical on both? got a bit of a fetish about skinnyish tyres at the moment, smaller sections make light bikes even more fun

Looks like I might have found one, will report back.

I think what I'm getting from re-acquainting myself with the board is that pointy / curvey differences are minimal in practice.
