Default Pronunciation question...

Currently studying Greek And Roman mythology...which is nice.

Specifically looking at the myth of Hippolytus.

Is the y in that name pronounced I as in aye aye cap'n or i as in pickle?

Hip·pol·y·tus [hi-pol-i-tuhs]

noun Also, Hip·pol·y·tos  [hi-pol-i-tuhs, -tos] Classical Mythology . the son of Theseus who was falsely accused by his stepmother, Phaedra, of raping her after he had rejected her advances and who was killed by Poseidon in response to the plea of Theseus.

So its I as in pickle

I see your point Dizzy, but old Hippo geezer appears to be a tad unreachable right now...but you probably knew that anyway...

Think I'll stick with the i as in pick...
