Sooo shiney new xbox + kinect has been set up for a few days and my son is loving it
![]() Time for daddy to get something out of it too now (was never the plan honest). As much as small baby tiger cubs are cute, they dont really do it for me in terms of gaming! Background: Final Fantasy nut. Not into FPS/Platform and suchlike. FInd some "Action RPG's" ok...but at heart I really prefer the random encounter type. Final Fantasy, Lufia, Breath of Fire, etc... Best games I have played are all RPG's and/or Strategy games. Not been into games for a few years now, so I have no idea what is out. Lots of demo's to download and try, but they all look awesome and I cant afford to buy them all to try! Demo's lack somewhat most of the time. Tried Fable 3 demo, was "ok", but nothing that really glued me the way FF series does most of the time. Sooo, whilst I wait for FF XIII-2 to come out (which I'll play on PS3 probably), can anyone recommend any RPG's? Preferably NOT online or MMO based, as I tend to get shamefully addicted to them (like FFXI) Help me! |

You know FF13 is on 360 right? Also take a look at Eternal Sonata, pretty old game and can be picked up really cheaply.
Not random encounter stuff but the best RPG IMO for 360 has to be Mass Effect 1 and 2. Both awesome games with well over 40 or 50 hours of gameplay each. |

I heard FF13-2 was going to be released on both consoles, but Xbox lacking BluRay will probably mean multiple discs? Not important anyhow.
Off to google these suggestions ![]() |

Fable 2 is pretty good- as long as you observe the following-
Do lots of side quests, as the main story is very short It's quite (nay- very) easy Some of the quests are a bit repetetive That aside, it's gorgeous- the 'world' is really well realised It's often quite funny as well, with lots of scope for entertainment and extended play (once the story is finished) Game of the year edition should be knocking around at a good price |

Oblivion. If that sorta thing takes your fancy. I know the whole swords and shields, magic and demons thing sounds a little childish/nerdy/dungeons and dragons/that sort of stereotype. But its a very well done game. Kept me entertained for absolute hours. Looking forward to Skyrim which is the next installment they're doing.
Or if you fancy a really cool concept that will get you thinking, try the Portal games. Although get "The Orange Box" and do Portal 1 before starting Portal 2. The Half Life series on the Orange Box is another fantastic set of games. First Person Shooter but its more than just enter a room and shoot all bad guys that move with lots of explosions and noise. The Splinter Cell games are pretty awesome too. I would recommend starting from the beginning with the original Xbox ones though. Great games. Kinda preferred the originals where you are a secret agent sneaking about Russian Compounds or something working for an organisation. The ones on the 360 (Double Agent and Conviction) are starting to come away from the secret agent working for an organisation thing. Still all very good games though. |
