Default whats the score with buying off the forum via paypal

Hi, a few weeks back I bought a part from a forum member, paid via paypal and have heard nothing, even with sending 2 polite emails, and now a 3rd asking to have my money back, still polite.

As it wasnt an ebay transaction is there not much I can do? although it was only £20, thats not the point, Id dont just chuck cash about for the sake of it.

Not naming the forum member as im hoping they cough up either the part or my money back.

Lee

You should still be covered by PAYPAL for the non delivery, unless you sent it as a gift payment

+1 Which is why sending money as a gift is free.

Sill annoys me when i say buyers are responsible for the fees and i get lumbered with some of the sale being taken from me by Payapl. I don't need insurance/cover sa i know i'm going to deliver the frigging part.

Stick a deadline date for them to have delivered the goods or given a refund, or you will name and shame on the forum. Sick to the back teeth of seeing people getting ripped off on the forum and IMO if this is happening we need to know who the user is so we all know not to buy from them in future.

If you are selling and Paypal or ebay fees are an issue, just add a fiver to the asking price on the item.

I ticked the goods box as reason for sending. Just found the info on paypal site, looks like I need to open a dispute.

Even if the forum member is very busy an email would have helped, just hate being in the dark not knowing.

Check the users last period of activity on the forum by going to their profile. If it's before you started sending the messages then there could be a host of genuine reasons as to why they've not been on here.

If on the other hand they've been on the forum, and you know they've most likely read your messages then there are no excuses - name and shame.

Incidentally, is the member a very new one with minimal post activity?

No recent activity but were on the forum at time of purchase. Have about the same number of posts as me and similar joining time.

The reason I dont want to name and shame as maybe they are having some issues or problems, one of the reasons Ive been patient and have been polite with my emails.I have also emailed theyre email address with no reply.

Quick troll through your posts, and not hard to find out who you're on about

I'm sure there must be a genuine reason. Perhaps goods lost in the post, said person wouldn't know and has had no time to check internet?!

Just a note for anybody about to do this, don't jump to conclusions!

It will appear that Binky and Leebex may have agreed the sale of a reg/rec, but that was only on Saturday, so with the best will in the world it was unlikely to have arrived by yesterday. Binky's a good lad, he doesn't have the same post count or join date as Leebex, and the OP said it's been a couple of weeks.

Name and shame at this stage IMO, it could be a genuine reason so I wouldnt be ar5ey about it but just a
"Oi x?X?x where is my item?" thread should do it.
