hello from an sv virgin
Thought I'd introduce myself after been long time lurker, I'm what you call an older member, been biking on and off for 30 years, a few of which were off roading in my early teen years. Will be looking to buy a bike in the next couple of weeks and have narrowed it down to a choice of 2, one being an sv650s and I'll be keeping my eye on the buy and sell section of the forum.

Re: hello from an sv virgin
I was looking at a honda hornet, I've spent about a month now trying to decide. Got some money coming through in the next couple of weeks so I'm definately buying and hoping to take advantage of maybe some seasonal savings.

Have you had a go of them both? I must admit I haven't been riding long so I've only been on a couple of bikes but I did quite like the look of the Hornet

Hello.
You should be wary of using the word 'virgin' in case Bear hears.

Re: hello from an sv virgin
No, there only seems to be one bike shop by me and they have loads of other bikes. Hornets seem quite rare on the classifieds compared to sv's, also more expensive. I also did look at a kawasaki er650f but the finish on the ones I've seen is a lot worse than an sv. I have to take seat height into account, I'm 5'6 with a 30 inside leg, I have had a cbr 600f before so I know a hornet is fine and also know that sv's suit shorter riders.
