So about 4 years ago!... I purchased some LED's in blue to replace the standard amber ones in my pointy's clocks.
I never bothered with them at the time and found them in a box the other day. I have my clocks striped and have attempted to remove the amber LED's but.... they are not coming off easy at all. So any tips? I know there glued but it must be some glue as I can not get them off. I have a solder sucker to get most of the solder and a temp controller iron on the min possible heat to get all the solder off, but still they wont shift. I managed to break the top off one of them so I'm in too deep now. I'm very close to getting the dremel out and just shaving them off ![]() Pictures or any assistance on how to do it would be great. |

Never mind...
I followed this guide including the link the remove the current LEDs. the bit that is not covered 100% is the amount of force needed to break the glue that is holding down the LEDs. Made a balls of a few of the points so ill have to wait and see if this will turn into a new set of clocks or not ![]() http://www.svrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149539 http://dreamsarts.com/leds_modification_instruction/ |

Is it possible to power on the gauges to test function while not hooked into the bike?

Looks sweet. Wouldn't mind some blue gauges but seems risky doing all that dismantling. And I'm not the best at soldering
