I ride a naked K7 SV (pointy).
I have ordered a nice new set of Goodridge stainless steel brake lines to replace the OEM rubber ones, which have now reached the end of their life. Anyway, the front lines came off no problem ... but the back line ... what a PIG!!!!!! I've had to completely remove the mounting bracket that holds the footpeg, brake peddal and brake hose assembly in order to get a socket spanner round the back and undo the banjo bolt on the brake line. And there's a little hanger that supports the back of the mounting bracket - which I've had to completely unbolt from the frame itself rather than taking the bracket off the hanger, simply because I absolutely could NOT get a socket in round the back of the bracket!!!! And I've had to unbolt the master cylinder from the frame because the body of the bike obscures one of the screws on the top of the cylinder. Is there an easier way to fit a new rear brake line other than taking the bracket half to bits?!! If there is, I'd love to know, because I couldn't find one!! Let me tell you that the air was blue. Blue!!! |

If you've already done it to put braided hoses on, when are you thinking of doing it again ????
