Default Fixing photos...

Is there any software that can fix this sort of problem....

...or has anyone here the ability to do it?

I can pay in virtual beer tokens until such time as we happen to meet...

The bad news is that it looks like theres a bit of the image missing - a small strip between the left and right sides.
I just did the following using the Gimp (open source s/w).
If I match the image up the best I can, you can see the gap. If I close the gap you can a mismatch.
It might be possible to try to clone in bits of the image to cover the gap, but that probably wouldnt look that good - plus my photo skills are rather lacking.
If it's important to you I could have a go, but I'd rather do it just the once on the best image available. Is that the full resolution image?

Brilliant Richie...thankyou very much.
Vj77...thankyou for trying..

You can only imagine how much poo I was in!

What happened was...
I cut and pasted the about thirty photos from the smartmedia card to my PC. For reasons unknown that photo ended up as you see it...I cannot explain why a part of it seems to missing either as I have not tampered with the photo at all.

It's certain we need a new camera anyway as smartmedia is now somewhat obsolete and it's probable that the card itself has a problem on it. It's about eight years old. It's just typical that this was the only picture of the missus with Mr Malone....and the only one out of the batch that became corrupted. When I uploaded it to photobucket though I did notice that just before the upload starts a small thumbnail is displayed, and this seemed perfect so I am somewhat mystified. Anyway, Xmas virtual beer tokens to Richie...the missus is well chuffed!
