Sorry for the weird question - I need a set of leathers for a track day, and there's no way I can afford to buy new from a shop
![]() So I'm stuck with good old ebay, but the Akito set I bought is designed for a much shorter lady, and the ones I've asked questions about since also seem to be too short. So does anyone know any brands / ranges I can search ebay for, which have a chance of fitting? I'm 6' tall and size 12. Should I be looking at men's sets instead?? Or anyone got anything for sale? Many thanks ![]() |

Men's legs tend to be shorter than women's so that may not help you much.
If you do decide to invest in new ones at a later date then Hideout can do made to measure or twek off the peg. They made a fabulous suit for my 6'1" tall friend who has a 36" inside leg - she only rides pillion but they can pretty much make up anything you need as Kate is based on site there and you can go for a fitting. It;s a bit of a trek for you to Essex but probably a one off purchase so would be worth it.

Are you looking for one piece or two piece hun??
I have a pair of size 12 Akito trousers in plain black which are too long for me and I don`t use them (I`m 5` 4") If you`re interested pm me your inside leg measurement (or have I missed it somewhere) and I could see if these would fit you? |

I'm 34" inside leg to the floor (so prob 28" inside leg needed on the trousers as they tend to be cut short?), so long body as well as long legs I think... I've just tried on the Akito set again, and when they're not zipped together there's a good 3" between the two bits. When I zip them together, it pulls down on my shoulders and the trousers lift up so that the knee pad is in the wrong place ![]() ![]() Seems like there's so much variation in the sizing of it all ![]() Last edited by xena_wales; 23-04-12 at 06:01 PM. |

Think most tracks expect one-pieces, just that bit safer. Buying anything functional in womens bike kit is a mission in itself, you're probably better off looking at men's kit as you say, just so much more variety. Or go down the fitted route but that costs a bomb. Noone's going to know on the day...although you may end up with a saggy crotch and bum sooner than normal

MYB beat me to it with MTM's
If your not in a rush watch ebay as MTM/ special order size leathers go for not much compared to standard sizes. Failing that HG are the experts at strange sizes (I've nearly been grotted in two by a standard size pair of HG race bottoms) . PM Amanda on here she may be able to help

Thanks all for your input
![]() MTM are out of the question at the moment. I've just got divorced so getting somewhere to live is higher priority, lol!! I'll bear it in mind for the future tho! I've looked at loads of stuff on ebay now and quite a few listing reckon that they're selling unisex stuff, so might see if I can try my mate's RSTs on to get an idea of size as he's not much bigger than me. |

I have a 35" inside leg and am 5' 10" (all leg and arms, short body) and a size 12, I can honestly say that I have never managed to find any kit to fit me properly, but you are better with mens than womens, I used to have a set of Hein Gericke mens that were only a smidge too short for me, unfortunately I sold them on e-bay last year, but it may be a brand it is worth watching for second hand. Good luck.
