Hi all,
I'm looking for the Suzuki SV series (K3-K9) top box (top case according to Suzuki) mounting plate which replaces the pillion seat with the base plate for a top box. Does anyone out there have one they are willing to sell. If you also have the SV top box to go with it, I'd be interested in that too. Cheers, James. |

You could always mount a top box bracket onto a second hand pillion seat. Probably be cheaper and easier to source, your not limited to certain brands then either.

From what I have heard, if you use the Suzuki plate, you "have" to use the Suzuki box also.
The fitting is similar to a monokey but very slightly different. I have a monolock plate bolted to a rear seat and it does the job perfectly. A lot easier to remove too. |

Cheers guys.
I have seen these suggestions before, but a second hand seat was anything from £25 upto £50, and you still have to buy the top box as well. But I have struck it lucky this afternoon, top box and mounting plate with keys for £25 plus p+p. Thanks for your help. James. |

The top box arrived in one peice, and is in very good condition.
Went to put it on my bike, and realized it wasn't going to be as straight forward as just swapping it for the seat. You have to also take off the pillion grab rail and screw/bolt the base plate on. But.... this is when I discovered it to be for the next model up from mine, which would be whats refered to as the pointy one, and not the curvy one I have. Further investigations reveals that I wrongly believed that mine is a very early K3, when in fact it's a very late K2 on an 03 plate. ![]() I now need to go down the rout of a cheap crappy K2 pillion seat to use for the base of something else, and to sell this on. |

Cheers Phil,
It cost me £45 landed, so I'll be asking £45 + p&p. And the madness of it all, it was posted from south England to me. Regards, James. |
