Default Conjunctishytus...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!
I go to some tucked away place in Scotland, spend most of my time wading through marshland with deer and badgers, then spend 3 days wild camping on an uninhabited island extracting seabirds from a net at night...come home and I have something wrong with my eyes, think it's just dry eyes 'cos of exposure to wind so don't go to the doctor for a week or two...then find out I have Conjunctivitus, I hate hate hate it. Done the antibiotics course and think I still have it, just want it to leave me alone!

Anyone had it, got tips for helping eradicate it? And anyone had it while having to use the bike, cos it's making me paranoid when helmet going on and off but nowt I can do about it

How do I know when it's gone, need my eyeliner back lol

Cheers all,
A dejected Missyburd, the world's crappest patient x

Only look at nice things until it goes away.

Sleek, sporty Italian cars and motorbikes, cute fluffy animals, Scott Schumanns fashion blog or the bronzed Adonis that is your husband/boyfriend. Your choice.

All through watery eyes, amazing how the slight distortion sheds a better light on things

I have used cooled down camomile tea and cotton wool to relieve the symptoms.

Saline Solution.

Salt water every time! Make a cup of it and hold your eyelids open then slowly tip it in.
you'll need to blink but thats sorta the magic behind it, it works for me without fail.

Only problem with Salt solution is that it dries the skin out, I have slight flaking under my eyelids. Managed to get to speak to a triage doctor just now and he says I shouldn't be infectious now and that I had Blepheritis combined with conjunctivitis. Nurse never told me I had that or how to deal with it. Hot compresses a couple of times a day and general "eyelid hygiene". I've used a drop or two of tea tree oil (natural antiseptic) in warm water for the compresses, hopefully that should sort the remaining symptoms. Can use Vaseline to help keep the area moisturised.

Just glad I'm not infectious anymore. Hoping my helmet's clear of it!

Yup, salty water.
That second leak seems more concerned about the quality of the water as opposed to the salt content
