Help bike not starting!!

Was running fine last night, come to go out today on a ride round North Wales and won't start. When I turn the key the dash lights up as normal and the engine priming noise happens but then when I try to start it the dash lights go out (clock and mileage display) and I get a couple of clicking sounds from near the battery and nothing, feels like its trying but just won't start. The kill switch isn't on, bike is in neutral etc.

Any ideas guys, just a dead battery or something else?

Will it just die like that though? Bike has run fine from getting it, started on the button every time up until last night.

Will I be able to use a charger on it or am I best getting a new battery and using an optimiser?

Whack a charger on there, I use 4A 12volt charger, whilst battery is still conected as I have an alarm

Seeing as you live in Manchester too, can you recommend anywhere to get one, was gonna go blitz for bikes but it's closed now

This shop, I just rang them up, they have some in stock, about £19 and close at 5pm

It's worth a go I'll set off now, just hope the batteries not too far gone, at least if it is I'll be able to use the charger on a new battery to keep it topped it, cheers anyway, let you know how I go on.

did you put the steering lock on, and turn the key too far, and put the parking lights on...if you`ve just flattened the battery like this it should recover....put it on charge over night if you can..some ecu`s don`t like the surge from a jump start.

I'm always wary not to do that but I could have done. Got the charger now and battery on charge so fingers crossed all is ok.
