Question on gear shifter - Kart. - SV650.org

Hi all,

Still working on my project lol I have a question around the shifting mechanism, I won't be running a foot operated shifter but will be using a hand shifter for my kart project, the engine doesn't have the shifter with it as it seems that the shifter lever pivots on part of the frame which then transmits the force via a rod onto a clamp which is on the shift shaft going into the gearbox.

What is that clamp on the shift shaft actually called? It seems that all I need is that clamp on the shaft which I can then attach a rod to the hand shifter rather than trying to actuator off a foot operated shifter.

Is there a set size I need? I can see that the shift shaft is splined but as I don't have any part of the shifter mechanism I don't know what to ask for lol does anyone have one spare I can buy off them?

Looks like I need parts 21, 26, 23, 27 (guessing 28 is attached) and 36 on the below diagram, I will be running the shifter rod to a hand shifter from part 28 which I am guessing is a part directly attached to part 27?

Pretty much any Suzuki lever will fit the shaft, and plenty other Japanese bikes besides.

More upright bikes with the footrests further forward have no linkage - lever straight on to the shaft.
