Default RAF Leuchars Battle of Britain Airshow 2012

Anyone going?

I will be working at it again this year (thankfully this will be my last one).

Expect road chaos and huge delays in North East Fife on Saturday folks.

Parking on base for bikes which would probably be the easiest way to travel there IMO.

I'm working so wont be going, but I'd also really struggle to pay £29 for a ticket for me and £15 for the wee one to stand about in a cold windy field watching planes.

Hope the weather forecast is right and you get nice weather!

I know what you mean Jen.

I think the price is ridiculous. A family of 4 get to spend hours stuck in traffic trying to get in then a fortune on tickets and all the burger vans up their prices for the day which i think is disgusting. They then get stuck in traffic jams for hours trying to get home.

Total geeks that want to look at planes anyway!! They are a pain in the arris.

You have actually just described every single event in the whole of the UK - but we grin and bear it because we're "British" don't we?

This Total Geek is out on the lash on friday nicht so its a no go for me.

Bit gutted.

Always nice to saunter up and on to the base on your bike. Last time in a car did not get home till 11.30! But that gave me the opportunity to delete the hundreds of photies of clouds and the occasional black speck.

Going to an event near Knockhill on Saturday starting at 10.00am, will the traffic be a problem?

Heads up would be good, then i can avoid major roads and set off a wee bit earlier if need be.

Leuchars won't be the problem. The Forth Road Bridge is planning contraflow works Saturday morning till 10:30 AM (weather permitting) which is where you might have problems.

Knockhill would be ok as it is the other side of the M90. There may be an increase in traffic but i very much doubt it will be that noticeable.

If it is then i am sorry for missleading you.

Yeah, I was going to say there are bridge works planned so traffic might be heavier over Kincardine bridges, I would set off a bit earlier SIII.

Cheers Guys. Going on a freebie with Jeep! Off roading, clay shooting, archery, Falconery and free feed all day.
